I took this image of Arturo shortly before I bid him farewell. I only realized after I was reviewing the images I had made of him that he avoided eye contact with me the entire time we were speaking except for when I asked him what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. He told me that he had lived a long life, and that all he cared about was each day, and he was no longer afraid of death.
