Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph was taken in my back yard.

Time

This was taken around 9:30 A.M. Often in the fall or early spring hawks visit my yard in hopes of feeding on finches and sparrows that visit my bird feeders.

Lighting

The lighting was produced by Mother Nature, no artificial light needed as it was a bright sunny day.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D810, no tripod, hand held. 95% of my photographs are taken with out the use of a tripod. I also use a Nikon 70-200 lens for 100% of my nature photographs. This lens has produced over 5000 great photographs of a verity of birds. My specialty is humming birds.

Inspiration

The photograph was taken without any prep time as it was a n for seen and surprising capture.

Editing

What you see is untouched, just as the camera and lens saw this magnificent hawk.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry the Nikon 70-200 and the Nikon 10X24 wide angle lens. Also carry 4 spare batteries and an extra compact flash card.

Feedback

Practice makes perfect and the three P's, Perseverance, Patience and Persistence.
