Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Herne bay, Norfolk, England while on a day out, then edited at home.

Time

It was taken during sunset on a clear day.

Lighting

This was a double exposure and I took alot of the brightness out to give a gloomy effect

Equipment

I used my DSLR for the photo and Snapseed for the editing. No other equipment used.

Inspiration

When I started taking photos, I liked to take nature and sunset shots. I used to travel for hours just for 20 mins of shooting.

Editing

Other than the double exposure, I changed the brightness, used vignette, softened the outlines to give a slightly dreamy effect. This was done when I used to heavily edit my shots, one of the typical learning curves.

In my camera bag

Today I mostly use my phone as alot of the newer phones have decent cameras and as this is a hobby I haven't invested in a camera yet, especially due to the recent lockdowns.

Feedback

As I said earlier, this photo was taken back when I first started. So if your just starting, have fun with your photography, over time you will find your style. As of editing find a good software to use, but for starting there alot of free ones befor thinking about paying. Test them out. Finally this wasn't a perfect shot, still isn't but people still liked it, so remind yourself perfect isn't always the best.
