I spent all of October chasing fall from Montana to Arizona. The colors faded as we moved on. Fruita was the place I wanted to stay. The 3,000 fruit trees crested in gold and the red rock walls above it all. The nights were freezing, but the last hour of daylight brought a nostalgic warmth of the summer end. We stayed only as long as cold would allow and passed through with only our memories.
