Behind The Lens

Location

This is a famous waterfall in the Yorkshire Dales in the Bolton Abbey Estate which is owned by the Duke of Devonshire. The waterfall is only accessible on foot and takes a long hike to get there through ‘permitted’ farmers fields, until you reach the hidden Valley of Desolation.

Time

This was taken late afternoon in early Autumn

Lighting

This is just one of the many sights to capture on the Bolton Abbey estate, but the famous stepping stones at sunset with the Abbey in the background over the River Wharf is a sight worth capturing.

Equipment

Equipment was a Canon 60D, with a ND10 filter and Manfrotto tripod

Inspiration

The many sights of the Yorkshire Dales are always a passion of mine for a photo adventure.

Editing

Shot in RAW and processed in PhotoShop

In my camera bag

Now I carry a 6DMkII with various lenses, 50mm, 18-40mm, 24-135mm & 75mm-300mm

Feedback

Tripod is a must and a good ND Filter, also plan your time of and the sun path.
