Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Malmö (Sweden). That trip was my first “photography trip” and I wanted to take pictures of everywhere I went.

Time

I consider myself as a sunset lover, so I walked all over that beach admiring the beautiful sunset that was taking place that day, until I found that dock

Lighting

That was “blue hour” time so there wasn’t so much light but the streetlights in the dock

Equipment

I used my Canon Eos 600D camera, and 24-105mm f/4 lens; also a hefty tripod because there was so much wind in that dock that night.

Inspiration

What I had in mind when I turned my head and I saw that building at the end of the dock was the typical picture taken from the beginning of the dock where you can see the whole construction in the middle of the composition with the sunset in the background and creating a perfect vanishing point, but in this case, the building at the end of the dock gave the image a different touch

Editing

I had to post-process the raw giving it more warm light from the streetlights, sharping the details and desaturating the green color because the light was too dim, and with some kind of green tones that were too gloomy for me

In my camera bag

I use to carry with me my camera, a 24-105mm f/4 lens, a camera's remote shutter release and depending on the time I go out, my vanguard tripod. Those are my basics.

Feedback

All they need to do is look at everything as if they had a camera built into their eyes, looking for compositions wherever they go, so when a site like this appears, they will see the image perfectly in their head.
