Feb. 15, 2017 approx 1430 hours - sunny afternoon Nikon D500 Tamron 150-600mm Manfrotto Tripod with ballheadLighting
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon with no wind.Equipment
Nikon D500 Tamron 150-600mm with lens hood. Manfrotto Tripod with Gimbal. Sunny afternoon - no flash used.Inspiration
I was patiently waiting for a close up shot of the Northern Hawk Owl and I was rewarded with this opportunity. Owls usually claim one square kilometre as their "airspace", subsequently no other owls in the immediate vicinity.Editing
I am not very good at post processing, just added some contrast to highlight colours. In my camera bag
I usually carry a Nikon D500 and a Nikon D7100 and when "shooting" wildlife I use my Tamron 150-600mm. When photographing landscapes I use a Tokina 11-16mm as well as Tamron 18-400mm. Filters depend on light and cloud cover. All lenses are equipped with UV, CPL. Manfrotto tripod with ballhead & gimbal. Extra memory cards and batteries and is a must in extremely cold weather.Feedback
Patience is a must. Cameras with high FPS and good buffer is highly recommended. I do not profess to know all the technical aspects of various cameras and cannot say that one is better than another. I am a hobbyist photographer - with about five years experience. I started with a Nikon D5200 and upgraded since then and love my Nikon D500.
