Behind The Lens
Location
This was out in my backyard in Montana after a snowstorm left us with a beautiful windswept snow scene. My windmill is about 100 years old and so is my grain bin that I converted into a yard shed. The sun came out and gave great shadows on the white background. I can almost feel the fresh cold air.Time
This picture was taken mid day right off my back patio and reminds me I have such a beautiful view out my back door. Makes me happy to be alive!Lighting
The sun came out and gave great shadows on the white background. I can almost feel the fresh cold air. The bluebird sky and the earth tones of the grass and the structures catches my eye.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony NEX-7 camera off hand without a tripod.Inspiration
It was just so striking what the storm had left behind and the sun was working overtime on a cold Montana winter day.Editing
I did no processing and the picture was taken on full auto.In my camera bag
Just my camera with a 3.5-5.6/18-55 lens.Feedback
When I'm at home or traveling around Montana for work I always have my camera and take pictures of anything that strikes me as beautiful or different. Often times the pictures don't capture what I think I see but a few are amazing when I look back on them. So my motto is take 1,000 pictures to get a few gems.
