Behind The Lens

Location

I have a stress buster zen place of sorts where I hangout mostly to track sunrises and take some great horizon shots. This place is basically a huge reservoir created to supply water in our city as well as a steel plant nearby. I have a whole bunch of photographs from this place but this feels special.

Time

My favorite times of all, early early morning. I mean what's more transcendent and vivid than a gleaming horizon full of colours. The hues are absolutely soothing.

Lighting

I couldn't really see what was going on as it was dark and sunrise was almost upon me. So I zoomed in with my canon and I realized a fisherman was waiting patiently on a tiny boat to catch hia morning sell. I was busy taking a few snapshots of him but as I zoomed out, I saw the sun rose up behind him. Red, then orange, changing the nature of all things it's light touched. I was fortunate enough that my fishy guy was parked right below it so I got some good shots.

Equipment

Canon 600D, Canon 55-250mm telephoto zoom lens and a Digitek OTG tripod

Inspiration

I can say it was luck, but it was much more than that. I like to compose my shots and it took me a while to align and decide my portrait. I only wanted a good sunrise shot but I ended up with a composition. Something new everyday, right?

Editing

I take RAW images and post process them in photoshop using basic contrast edits and sharpen or smoothen stuff based on need. I like to keep it natural, as it should be. I have moved on to lightroom nowadays and it has been my go to editing software ever since.

In my camera bag

Canon 18-55mm lens F3.5-5.6 IS, Canon 55-250mm telephoto zoom, Canon 50mm F1.8 prime, an OTG tripod, ND filters

Feedback

Timing is absolutely prime. Wait for your shot but keep clicking. All of it gives you an array to choose from since as a photographer, all of it feels beautiful but we don't want to post all of them. Have your own inspiration behind its composition and post processing as it's your identity in a way.
