They remember not the me, yet innocent, who saw their very beginning.  They remember not, the me, lost in miserable fantasy who had no energy to spare and paid no attention whatsoever as they passed their first decade. They remember not, the me, grounded in glorious fantasy, who nodded at them as if old friends as they began to take on their full stature and grow confident in their mission.  They remember not, the me, mired at last in miserably glorious reality, as he saluted them with the tears of realization in his eyes.  The realization that an anchor was handy for all that time spent adrift seeming victim to the whims of the wind.   They remember not, but I, with the incredible power granted by a no longer distorted view behind me, see all but too clearly now.
