This small statue of what appears to be some sort of holy figure guarding the crumbling stone walls on a site adjacent to what was the first Miles River Bridge. According to the Talbot County Historical Society, old St. John's Church was originally built in 1839 and abandoned in 1900. The ruins have long been overgrown by ivy and other undergrowth, but they still manage to exude the noble character of the old Church.
