"Sand Blasted" Every time I am finished up with my Death Valley Class, I like to spend a night or two in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada before I fly home. I love off trail exploring the sand stone formations looking for colors and patterns, of which this year I found many. But I always like to finish the day with an attempt to photograph the Fire Wave at sunset. This year was extra challenging as there were high winds in the area, and I survived 60 mile and hour gusts while trying to get this shot. Luckily the wind would die down for a minute letting me click the shutter a couple of times before it hit me again. I was punished greatly in getting this shot as I my gear and myself was pummeled with some on the strongest wind gusts I have had to endure for a long time. Any skin that was exposed was painfully sand blasted. Sunset and the Fire Wave in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Thank you so much for looking!
