Living in Mpumalanga and working in the Sabi Sands, I have grown accustomed to seeing elephants in their usual dull splendour. So when seeing them perfectly coated in a layer of red Madikwe clay, it was quite the oddity. It brought to mind the African culture, where locals would put a type of red sunscreen on their face when working in the hot sun. Truly an African feel.
