Teddy-Bear Cholla, Cylindropuntia bigelovii. Those little teddy bear paws seemingly jump right off of that cactus. We both ended up with a paw in the shoe. The needles have barbs, like a fish hook, that will crawl right through the sole of your shoe. If you hike in the desert, beware the jumping cholla!
