Great shot! So creative using the chalk/dust as a prop and awesome timing to get the chalk/dust mid-air. Also very creative use of light to create pockets of light and shadow around the subject. Nice job! Someday I'd like to develop my portraiture skills and take pictures of dancers... it's a bit difficult at the moment because I am in a wheelchair and it affects the composition of shots, especially those of people, and taking photos is very painful for me. One day, I hope! I took ballet for 8 years before doctors told me I had to quit, so I appreciate all of your dance/dancer shots. I used to love looking at photos of dancers and Degas paintings as a young girl dancing. I was never the best dancer (we later found out my health issues were probably affecting it), but I have always appreciated the beauty, grace, strength, and athleticism that all forms of dance take.
