A self seeded tree from the 1700's. This bank was quarried away to make the Causeway and dam that became the pond head and bridge-walkway at the edge of the Man-Made & Hand-Made Great Stubbing Pond used to supply water to the nearby Mills.. None of the trees here grew until after that date. They grow out Granite seamed with sandstone. It is doubtful many still stand after Storm Doris.
