Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at the top of a hill amongst the Quantock Hills area, I took this photograph moments after we scattered my beloved Miko, a White German Shepherd, across the hill where he was once chased by wild horses when he was younger. The Quantocks was one of his favourite places to let loose and run around like a headless chicken!

Time

Probably one of my favourite shots and one of the most meaningful, taken at approx 6pm mid-January.

Lighting

This was a very lucky shot, taken on my Samsung S6 in one swift movement from pocket to photograph!

Equipment

Samsung S6 and editting software Snapseed

Inspiration

I wanted a keepsake from my final moments with Miko.

Editing

I use a free editing software on my phone called Snapseed. It's really great for beginners and pros with lots of different tools to make your photos pop!

In my camera bag

I normally carry my trusty Canon 1300D 18-55mm, grad ND filter, CPL polarizer and 70-200mm lens.

Feedback

Don't over think shots; sometimes trust your gut and go for it and they come out spectacular. You can spend hours framing the "perfect shot" and never achieve it, sometimes it only takes turning around with your phone in hand.
