Location
This photo is taken at beautiful island called Madeira in Atlantic ocean. This masive cliffs with rocky beach is located at Praia de S. Jorge (beach Saint. Jorge).Time
This is my favorite image from Madeira. Day before, we went by car along north coast - ''quite windy here'' I said. So we stop there for a quick break and I went to the beach, if there is something interesting... Holy s*it - I've never seen such a dramatic scenery like this. So the goal for next day was set. Arrived on the place 1 hour before sunset - nobody on the beach, only sound what you could hear at this time, at this place was strength of water. I was shooting half an hour for capture best movement of waves with different clouds. Photo was taken at September 19, 2016.Lighting
I didn't need any additional lighting - I made multi-exposure photos for get the most from lights and shadows. Nature has perfect lighting everytime ;).Equipment
I am working with DSLR Nikon D7100. For this travel I bought landscape lens Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 (It was upgrade from Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8). Tripod Beike Q-666 - Was it last journey for this tripod and ND 1000x filter from czech store vffoto.com.Inspiration
Well as I said in previous question. We found this location randomly. We had few days till went home, everything what I want to see or capture was done and last few days we were exploring the north coast of Madeira island. Big mistake from our side - northern coast is perfect because of it's wilderness and fast changing weather. I was searching the inspiration from for example visitmadeira.pt and from google maps. But best photos comes from unknown places!Editing
I am doing post-process for every single photo which I publish. It depends on complexity of condition during photography. I am thinking about it how will be edited when I arrived home. Anyway, I am shooting to RAW, so don't handle with white balance, mostly focusing to composition aperture and sharpness of photography. This photography is from 12 images - 3 for sky and clouds, 3 for middle part and 6 for foreground and blurred water.In my camera bag
For every walk I take this: Nikon D7100, landscape lens Tokina 11-20/2.8, for me perfect and very variable lens 24-120 f/4 and prime lens 50/1.8. With this equipment I am sure that I can cover variable situation which can be appeared.Feedback
I hope this advice is more important for every photo, not only for this :). First think - first visit location and try to think about your future photography. Be ready on the place before golden hour. Shoot into raw and use histogram - it's most powerful feedback immediately after shoot. Oh, and also have microfiber and good hiking boots. Wish all good light!
