Third time was the charm! Arrived at Yosemite National Park in search of the Horsetail Fall's firefall on February 22, 2017 after a long drive and a detour only to find the afternoon starting to snow. Found an area that looked like some photographers staked out for the event and tried to get the Shot. Didn't appear the sunset would break trhough but it did at the last moment but after shooting we fould we were at the wrong location (a mile short of the spot to shoot the firefall). Next day, we staked out a location early in the morning at the Spot and thought the sunset would break through the snow clouds but it was a wash out (so much for spending a day in the freezing cold). We extended our stay to the evening of the next day and the setting sun looked like it would light up the waterfall but last minute clouds made everyone but the belivers think the show would be washed out again but at the last moment the sunset light broke through the clouds and lit up the waterfall.
