Location
This shot was taken at the Durrell Zoo on a rare opportunity while working in Jersey, A channel Island UK. I have never been a lover of the great apes being kept in captivity although I do understand the reason. It was a cold day and this was taken inside the pen area using only available light.Time
This was a mid afternoon shot and my third visit.Lighting
Lighting was just available light from a small door way with a plastic cover which acted like a soft box.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D800 and the Nikon 200-400 f4 lensInspiration
The look of boredom and isolation that I felt was in the apes face.Editing
Simple curves in LRIn my camera bag
On this day just the D800 and 200-400 f4. Normally I would have something for most occasions.Feedback
Patients and a bit of luck. But most of all the opportunity.
