Behind The Lens

Location

From the basecamp of the Acatenango vulcano, Guatemala.

Time

The picture was taken around midnight while drinking hot chocolate

Lighting

It took me a while to focus on the mountain and lava, it took multiple eruptions and exposure settings to get a picture like that

Equipment

This was shot on a Panasonic GH 4 and a 12-60mm F2.8 lense. with tripod

Inspiration

just looking at an volcano erupting at night from that close is inspiring enough.

Editing

almost none

In my camera bag

That really depends on the picture. In this case, I was traveling for a couple of months and therefore only had a 12-60mm and a 35mm lense with me.

Feedback

the problem with the vulcano is that you never know how big the next eruption will be and how much light there will be. Therefore its always a matter of luck as well. Good luck!
