Hannah and Emmit, two cats we found alongside the road on the way to a hike. Someone had just dropped them there, and they were shivering and frightened half to death. We grabbed a cat carrier from a local and took them home. I put them underneath an evergreen tree, and when I woke up in the morning, they were still in the carrier. I brought them in and we loved them madly until illness took them both.
