Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my garden. This male Hairy Footed Flower Bee was following a female HFFB and luckily he was hovering around her. Very fast little Bee's though, so it was diffucult to keep him in focus. Hand held. I don't use tripods.

Time

It was taken midday with the sun behind me.

Lighting

It was taken with the sun behind me, but too much sunlight can cause blown highlights.

Equipment

My camera is a Canon 7d mk2. The lens is a Canon 100mm Macro L lens.

Inspiration

I love all wildlife and nature and wanted to get a face on shot of this little Bee in flight. I was just in the garden at the right time.

Editing

I cropped the shot and added a bit of contrast and a little bit of sharpening. I try not to process my shots too much.

In my camera bag

Canon 7d mk2 camera. Canon 300mm L Lens and Canon 100mm Macro L lens is usually what I use.

Feedback

The key to macro photograph is patience and being in the right place at the right time.
