Pine martens are one of Ireland's rarest and most elusive mammals. They have made a come back in recent years and are being linked to the increase in native Red Squirrel numbers, as they prey on the Grey Squirrel. They are still hard to find because of their mainly nocturnal habit. I started my project three years ago and took my first photo last July 2016.
