Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at Zoo Miami. It’s their female Sumatran tiger named Leeloo who at the time had a baby cub named Satu.Time
This photo was taken in the morning around 10:30 am during the zoo’s “Tiger Talks”. This is where they talk about the importantance of animal conservation and protecting our environment.Lighting
This was all shot with natural light and utilizating the shadows from where Leeloo was resting with her son.Equipment
Shot using a D750 with a 80-400 Nikkor lens nothing else was used.Inspiration
I love trying to capture these beautiful animals as they roam around in their environment.Editing
Using Lightroom and darkened around Leeloo to create a more isolated portrait and enhanced her features to make the photo pop!In my camera bag
When shooting wildlife I always have my Nikkor 80-400 but my everyday lens is my Nikkor 24-70 f2.8. Such a sharp lens and can always create such amazing photos! Other then that I do like to use my Nikkor 17-35 f2.8 when doing landscapes and exploring.Feedback
Best way to shoot images like these is keep your shutter high around 1/1000-1/2000 to capture them as quick as possible since these beautiful animals move so quick! I also tend to keep my Aperture low to isolate the animals in the frame.
