Location
This photo was taken in a studio space in Old Colorado City, Colorado. This studio is a co-op for several photographers in the area. It is an older beautiful brick building. The specific studio space in on the second floor over a local bar.Time
This photo was take on February 5, 2016 around noon.Lighting
I loved the lighting, it was all natural lighting that poured in through the window in mid-day. The curtains provided a softer diffused light as well which helped set the soft look to this photo.Equipment
I shot this simply with my Nikon D610 and nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens.Inspiration
This photo was taken as part of a shoot. The idea was to build a portfolio more with shots of this woman's body. The shoe was placed on the floor by this model on her own, as it was making her feet hurt a bit to wear. The model was instructed to reach behind her head and stretch a slight bit. However working with this specific model I will tell you that she naturally fidgets, when she does if you are patient she will provide you with a natural amazing pose. The specific model has amazing tattoos, this one was meant to highlight her back tattoo. I was standing the bed above her just in the right second.Editing
The only post processing down to this image was to desaturate it, to achieve the desired black and white look. This was down in camera raw.In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon D610, Nikon D90 (backup), Nikkor 50mm 1.8, Nikkor. 18-85, Nikon 70-300, Nikon 18-105, Nikon SB 900, as well as many different memory cards, back up batteries, rechargeable batteries, and varies filters and cleaning tools.Feedback
Be patient! take the time to scout a location, along with various times of the day. Once you decide what you are trying to achieve and have found the location then find your model. Lighting is probably the most important factor in creating this image. I wanted it harsh even to be bright but soft enough to not over power the model.
