Behind The Lens

Location

I was in Fuencaliente La Palma, one of the Canary Islands in Spain. This photo was taken on the veranda of La Palma & Teneguia Princess.

Time

It was about 6.30 in the evening, and I was with my partner as we had our evening meal at the hotel. It was a great place to eat, a great sunset and the sound of the waves crashing on the coastline

Lighting

It was pretty much the last moments of natural light, as you can see the sun is almost gone on the horizon, so it was a case of now or never!

Equipment

This was taken with my mobile phone, which was at the time the LG G4 phone, which had a fabulous camera for a mobile phone.

Inspiration

It was a case of the right time, the right place, the right lighting and it just seemed to me to be the perfect moment to take a picture. It was something that happens when everything comes together and sometimes that's all you need to get a shot that works.

Editing

Not a thing!

In my camera bag

My camera of choice is My Sony Alpha A58. I also have a Sony A350, with various lenses. If I'm going out to deliberately take photos, I'll always take my camera, but other than that, it's the phone in my pocket.

Feedback

Sometimes you can wait for the right moment and spend a lot of worthwhile time preparing, but there's also the spur of the moment. My thought is if it looks right to me, then try and capture it.
