Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the hills of Munnar, Kerela. This place is famous for wildlife mountain goats which are also known as Nilgiri Tahr Goats. A very great acrobats who would climb from rocks to rocks without any fear up straight at the top of the mountains. Capturing this shot was an amazing experience for me because the time was not at all favorable for me.

Time

I surely remember the time while clicking this shot because it was late afternoon but when we drive up to the hill the weather got changed to something dark and overcast. The climate was very chilly up there and full of fog and drizzles of snow so this was a hell of an experience for me but I find this picture worth it.

Lighting

Nothing much but a tip maybe that one should always re-check his/her settings while or before clicking the shot and clicking in RAW is highly recommended.

Equipment

To be very honest, I was not having any such great types of equipment with me. But I was fully covered with jackets and mufflers because it was chilly out there with my Canon EOS 750D, attached to a 55-250mm Telephoto lens. That's it! Trust me. The efforts behind this picture were much more than the various types of equipment.

Inspiration

Nilgiri Tahr Goat's amazing climbing skills and I guess in allover the weather which was making it more difficult for me to click this. I'm a multi-genre photographer and I'm really more into nature, wildlife, travel, lifestyle content creation. I love observing nature and minute details of it.

Editing

Yes, I color graded it and enhanced the snow particles because it was at all a snowfall but I wanted to show how it would look if it would have snowed that time. Nothing much as post-processing than this.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a small tripod if I find some scenic beauty to shoot slow-shutter or astrophotography during night time. I carry lenses like 18-55mm( WIDE LENS), 50mm (PRIME), 55-250mm (TELEPHOTO), 58mm (HELIOS-PRIME). I also have a Speedlite and a diffuser if I want to shoot macros. I also have ND filters, shutter control with me. Extra battery pack and yes a waterproof, tough, easy carrying bag to cover everything if it gets wet, fall off, or anything incident like that.

Feedback

Don't get your eyes off, check your focus and settings time to time, shoot in RAW, be safe while shooting something in wildlife, and from a safe distance with telephoto lenses.
