Welcome to View Bug. Food Photography is one of my favorites I love shooting what I eat. There are several things that work for me in this shot. The vibrance of the salad and the Lighting is good in this shot makes the food look delicious. I do thing this would have worked better as a Landscape shot than portrait there a distracting object just behind the plat on the Right. One side of the plate seems a bit softer perhaps the focus point or too shallow a DoF. The Tartar sauce cup has a chip on it which detracts from the subject.
