it was December 30th and my locality in Kumasi, Ghana had a power outage. we were having an energy crisis as a country which had stiffed all creatives in the audiovisual arts as there was no electricity to power our lights. i decided to create an image which would communicate that even in our difficulties at the time our arts will still shine and like the lamp (i made out of a paper cup with a candle placed within) we will still show the beauty thats within us.
