This was taken in High Park, in TorontoTime
During winter and on a really overcast dayLighting
Just natural light on an overcast day, no bouncing or flash usedEquipment
This was shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 50mm 1.4 canon lensInspiration
This photo was taken as part of my final project at Seneca College and I wanted to do a different take on a "looking through the glass" image. So I had a piece of glass in which I used a spray that creates this frosted look. My boyfriend/assistant for the day was holding the glass in front of the camera while I tried to play around with the frost effect and the reflections in the glass.Editing
Yes, I did colour toning to give the image a wintery feel with colder tones and increased the contrastIn my camera bag
I really love fixed lens and tend to go towards them most of the time, so the lenses I use the most are a 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8 and a 35mm 1.4Feedback
You really gotta play around and test angles and ways to position the glass in front of the camera because of all the reflection you're getting. And it can be hard to focus on the subject as well when you're shooting through glass, so if you can move the glass, which was my case, I'd recommend focusing first, locking it and then positioning the glass in front of the camera.
