Taken in Millennium Square in the city of BristolTime
We had been wondering round the city all day having visited Bristol to look at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in the M Shed, a local museum and gallery. As we had parked near the square we thought we'd go for a coffee before driving home this was around 4 pm and the golden hour.Lighting
We were lucky to come upon this bunch of acrobats at this time of the evening and the golden hour was upon us, so it was all natural light.Equipment
Shot hand held on a Canon 60 D with a Tamron 18-270mm lensInspiration
We were really lucky to find this troop of around 8 young acrobats who were having a bit of fun and were willing to pose for us. I loved this one when they said they were going to try a few of their skills in the very shallow although must have been bitterly cold reflecting pool I encouraged them and got some great shots of them. I believe they were only amateurs but were happy for us to grab a few shots, we rewarded them with sending them our images.Editing
A little work in Lightroom and Macphun Intensify playing around with the saturation till I was happy with the effect. In my camera bag
I've usually got my 60 D or 7 D with me and when walking around to keep it light just my 18-270 lens, I might take a wide angle zoom with me sometimes depending on how much I want to carry around with me when walking around a city like this.Feedback
This is one of those shots I think of as a reward for always having my camera to hand, I could see other's watching us shoot these guys and some I know were missing their camera's. I've found cities like Bristol often have fascinating things to photograph, whether it's impromptu things like this, candid photography and one of my interests images with a social message such as pictures of those who experience some of the misfortunes society can put their way.
