A lone tourist walks past the amazing hand carved caves at Longmen Grotto China. There used to be hundreds if not thousands of Buddha statues in each cave. I asked a local if this was the work of Mao and the communists and he said "no it was the British in the 1800s that took most of them"!
From a series I exhibited after a trip to China and Vietnam.
