Location
this was taken on a family walk along the beach by Trevanne Farm, Saundersfoot, WalesTime
It was an early Summer's evening where we took a walk down to the beach from the campsite we were staying in. My daughter Keeley (pictured), would frequently find a spot away from others, to just sit and get lost in her thoughts, either focusing on a plot that she could structure a book around, visualising her characters and characteristics - we would be enlightened on our journey home! Or sat with a book in her hands - literally never without one. In this particular shot she was perched up on some rocks reading and not impressed once she realised I was aiming the camera at her !! It was a case of really mum ? your presence is merely an unwanted distraction and i would like you to move !!Lighting
Truthfully I was not really thinking about lighting as it was a sunny evening with blue sky all around. However, when I turned to check my daughter was still ok up on the rocks, I found the way the sunlight came in from the side, just catching the edge of her silhouette and giving a glow to her hair, perfectly reflected her dreaminess.Equipment
This was taken with a canon 400d with my 200mm lens if i remember correctlyInspiration
my daughter hates having her photos taken and is always with a book which she can coveniently hide behind. However, on this day she was lost in thought and oblivious for a few mins that I had switched my attention to her - this particular one where she catches me is my favourite as she doesn't break into smile like most people in front of a lens but looks on through her eyes with great intensity prior to her vocalising her disapproval !! I just love the way i can read her mind by looking through her eyes here :)Editing
i did not - no enhancements or filters have been used on this shotIn my camera bag

just remember every moment in life presents a photo opportunity, it's just your perspective on how you see it and decide whether or not you wish to capture it - always be prepared and that way you will never miss an opportunity. here for example my daughter enjoys being behind a lens or a book so very rare to capture her naturally in front of the lens. As there was no pressure on her feeling like the subject, i was able to capture some fantastic shots without her unesainess coming through
