Remembrance Sunday 2015, London.

Decorated veterans grace the streets, to meet old friends from old regiments. They converge from all points of the compass to pay tribute to their fallen friends, and have tribute paid to them, for their service.

Most come in groups, three's and four's, and family too. But one man I saw, he walked alone. His look significantly solemn, perhaps rightly so. His mind perhaps did dwell on past friends, lost. On current victims of war, on either side. Of future generations suffering, because of War.

Around him walk London's tourists, a staple of economy, but ignorant to the occasion. Ignorant in the least pejorative sense. Who among us is privy to other nations calendar dates? But still, the crowds irked him. Behind, a child cries. Her pain as palpable as his, but she knows not from where it stems. But this veteran knows the origin of his pain. Let us hope we never have to.
