Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at my home in Johannesburg, South Africa.Time
It was late afternoon during the summer.Lighting
The lighting was very soft so the focus was purely on the foreground.Equipment
I simply used my Canon Powershot S200 camera to take this photo.Inspiration
My Ridgeback, Tori, often licks the glass on my sliding door when she is trying to get my attention. She is, however, very lazy and so instead of properly licking the glass she just presses her face up against the glass and sticks her tongue out. This has provided plenty of entertainment for my family and I. I took this photo in the hopes of sharing some of the joy and amusement Tori gives us, with others.Editing
I touched up the lighting and brightness as the photo was fairly bland. I also increased the contrast to more clearly define Tori and her antics. In my camera bag
On an average day I have my Canon Powershot S200 in a case strapped to my belt. This allows me to capture spontaneous moments such as this one.Feedback
If you want to capture your pet doing something ridiculous, or just being adorable, then you must be patient and have your camera ready at all times. Often if you try to take a photo of your pet they will stop whatever they are doing and will focus on you. This can be frustrating and so patience is key in catching your pet off-guard.
