Karlovac is a city located in central Croatia. It is located at the intersection of four rivers; Dobra, Mrežnica, Korana and Kupa. Also the intersection of major transport routes linking the northern and southern part of the Croatian. Karlovac is a relatively young city which knows the exact date of origin - 13 July 1579. It was a six-pointed fortress, in the plain at the confluence of the Korana to the river Kupa. Named after its founder, the Austrian archduke Carl. It is built on the idea of an ideal Renaissance city in the form of a six-pointed star with a central square and streets intersecting at right angles. Today it is a city of beautiful old part, rich in parks and promenades and young people.
