Only a few times have I had the pleasure to witness the sun low enough in the sky to light thunderheads in this way. Late afternoon in the summer is one of the calmest times of the year, and seeing a cloud like this makes me know I'll be lulled to sleep by distant thunder over the ciacadas. I spent more than an hour just reframing and waiting for this cloud to continuously evolve.
