Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken at Snøhetta viewpoint nearby Hjerkin at Dovre mountain national park. This is a building with a glas wall facing into the national park, and contains this wooden sitting aera, and the hanging fireplace. It's open to the public most off the year. It's palced around 1100m above sea level.

Time

This photo where taken at 18:29 local time 12. sept. 2013

Lighting

There are only natural light in this picture, throu the glas wall.

Equipment

Hand held Nikon D200 with Tamron SP 24 - 70mm F2.8 Di

Inspiration

I often drove past this place on my way to visit relatives, so this time I hopet that the weather where ok, as it was. Then it's 1km hike to this place. When I arrived, there where no one else around, so I walk in and shoot this one photo, and continued taking pictures outside the building. And it turned out to be a nice picture :)

Editing

This is as shoot, no post prosessing at all.

In my camera bag

These days I have a D810, Tamron SP 24 - 70 f.8 , nikon AF-S 20mm f1.8, nikon AF 14mm f2.8, nikon 60 mm macro, nikon 105mm macro, Sigma EX DG fisheye 8mm, SB-700 flash. Underwater Ikelite housing, 2x ikelite ds 161 flash, BigBlue CB 15000 prc video lights. And different types of self dessigned diffusors and other light moddifiers, 3d printed in different materials.

Feedback

My advice is to keep looking for good spots in you're aera, bring a camera and just take som photo's. You never know when the light will be right here i the middle off Norway. I often do not plan to detailed beforehand, I just go and se if the place I plan to shot at have the right light, if not I try again later. I learned thriou years off underwater photo, that you have to be prepared to take the photo when the possibillity presents itself, and think later.
