Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in my back yard. I am a beginner, self taught photographer and my dogs tend to be my models. I practice a lot with them.

Time

This was taken in the late morning/early afternoon after a snow storm and Honey couldn't wait to go out and play in the snow. She often waits at the sliding back door waiting to play in the snow. Honey my golden, was buying her face in the snow making paths then came and sat in front of me with snow all over her face. She was just to cute not to take a picture.

Lighting

Since the sky was just clearing up after a snow storm the sun was wonderfully filtered with light clouds.

Equipment

I shoot with a Nikon d3100. I have a 1.8 prime lense that my kids got me for Christmas and a rarely comes of my camera.

Inspiration

Everyday life inspires my photography, from the mundane to the fabulous. Finding the good helps keep the good in the forefront no matter what is going on in the world.

Editing

Very little post processing as I do not use light room or photoshop. I may have lightened shadows etc with the Nikon editor.

In my camera bag

My trusty Nikon d3100 someday I'll upgrade, my prime lens, and 70-200.

Feedback

Best advice I can give is keep trying, learn your camera, pay attention to the lighting, read and watch tutorial and having the sweetest golden retriever helps.
