Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Raasay, an island in the north of Scotland just off Skye.

Time

Sunset

Lighting

You often get really strong sunset up north and I love the way it reflects of the sea. It creates such a strong silhouette against the deep orange sun.

Equipment

Used my Nikon D3200 with the standard lense. Nothing else

Inspiration

We had been wandering along the coast with the dogs and my friend climbed a rock and I noticed how powerful it looked against the sky. I took a few shots but this was my favourite.

Editing

Not much. Made it a little clearer, increased contrast a little. It didn't need much editing.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3200 and now my new tamron 16-300mm lense, it's a great allrounder

Feedback

I guess it's just about being in the right place at the right time. Getting the composition right, I chose the rule of thirds. Making sure you have a quick shutter speed to get the silhouette.
