Hampas-dugo is a yearly Holy Week tradition in the Philippines. "Hampas" is the Filipino word for "to hit," while "dugo" means "blood." The Hampas-dugo tradition is a yearly showing of penitence of the people during the Holy Week. It is also like a reenactment of what happened to Jesus Christ a long time ago. The photo was taken at St. Michael Parish Church, Orion, Bataan, Philippines.
