The Trillium is the Provincial flower of Ontario but is found throughout temperate areas of North America and Asia. Picking parts off a Trillium can kill it and some species are listed as threatened or endangered and collecting these species may be illegal. I have come across these lovely flowers occasionally in British Columbia, this one was in Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island.
