Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a country Lane called “West Lane” in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Time

Around 16.00 on a winter afternoon, October 2010

Lighting

The lighting fell into my lap to be honest, as the rain stopped and the clouds parted to reveal Mother Natures beauty, the sun shon brilliantly to give these colours.

Equipment

I have to say this was shot on an iPhone 4!!! I was not expecting to come across this shot whatsoever when I set off on a short journey in absolute torrential rain.

Inspiration

As I drove steady along with reduced visibility all of a sudden the rain stopped, the heavens parted and the light was tremendous! From dark, bleak and gloomy, to this!!! I couldn’t help but gasp in awe.

Editing

I made a small rotation adjustment and a crop (the reflection is actually the roof of my car)!!

In my camera bag

In my bag is highly dependent on where my destination is, in my arsenal of equipment I have a canon 650 with a selection of lenses and canon powershot 540. Oh and an iPhone if we can include it.

Feedback

Enjoy the moment and loose yourself in it. Make your own perspective, create something unique, don’t be afraid to adjust the rules.
