Old Bazaar in Skopje is dating as early as 12th Century... It developed mostly during Otoman Empire. Although it has been severely damaged in the earthquakes in 1555 and 1963, it has been rebuild and still is very much alive, full of stores with old crafts, as well as old buildings dating from the times of the Otoman rule. Walking on Saturday or Sunday through the streets full of people buying all kinds of stuff and having it as a kind of ritual... is a special treat for a photographer.
