I spent ten days in Poland this year and eventually collected the mental fortitude to visit Auschwitz Two, the iconic site of the Nazis industrialised slaughter of people. The picture is of one of the many cars used to transport men, women and children. It's situated at a cross roads, where on arriving on site military doctors would deem you fit to work or not, those not where sent straight to their deaths, those who could work where segregated from their families and did so until they died of exhaustion.
