Believe it or not I took this image inside of a garage.Time
It was afternoon one year on the Fourth of July.Lighting
I loved the way the light was at the moment. I only had seconds to make the capture.Equipment
I shot this image handheld using my Nikon D300 and a Nikon 85mm f/1.4 with available light.Inspiration
I must’ve watched Cliff Maunter’s How to photograph beautiful brides. To me everything just seemed right at that moment. Pictured is the late grandfather of a friend of mine. I think he passed the next year. He was just sitting down in the opening of a garage. This image just happened to just hit me as I was walking by with my camera. I kinda wanted to catch him off guard because if he moved it could’ve changed the dynamic of the image.Editing
I used Lightroom to decrease the blacks, crop and enhance the clarity. In my camera bag
Usually I’ll just carry my Nikon D750 with a 50mm f/1.8.Feedback
Find something that you love shooting. Capture in a way that speaks to you. Everything that you see in your canvas. Paint the picture with you camera and tell a story. Then, share it with the world.
