Location
My sister's backyard in Vista, CA.Time
It was late morning, which is why her face is tilted upward toward it.Lighting
I try to use natural light whenever I can. I had the model turn her face upward toward the sun and close her eyes.s she brushed her hair back I asked her to freeze, hence the hand up by her cheek.Equipment
It was a no brand camera but came with various lenses, filters, flash and desk top tripod. I rarely use tripods as I move around too much.Inspiration
I saw this beautiful woman in a store and was inspired such. I asked her if she had ever modeled and if she would like to. The rest is history. I would recommend that if you're going to do that you have a website to send her to via her phone so she can see you're legitimate.Editing
I pride myself in not using photoshop. Once the photo is in the computer I play a little with contrast, lighting and color to get the best possible shot that may have been missing in the original. But not too far off the original. I want to stay as true to the subject as possible while still giving it an umph!In my camera bag
Two cameras, various lenses and filters, cleanser, wipes, tripods and an automatic shutter release.Feedback
You need the right model. One who is confident and sure of the photos you want to take and has a buy in. Location is very important. Someplace quiet without the hoot and hollering of guys or honking of car. Have respect for the model and her comfort level. Go over the garments she'd like to wear vs what you'd like to see her in. However, it should match the theme you're going for.
