Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in the changing room of a rented studio in San Diego, CA.

Time

It was towards the late afternoon early evening time frame.

Lighting

As I was talking with the model and she was getting ready I decided to try a couple of different things and capture her as she was getting ready. Luckily she cooperated and worked her magic.

Equipment

D900 Nikon, 28-70mm, no tripod, and a SB900 flash

Inspiration

Her look, lighting and the general playful mood she was in.

Editing

Yes, touched up some saturation, and contrast using Lightroom. Dimmed the brightness of the light bulbs a bit for effect.

In my camera bag

D900, 70-210mm and 28-70mm zoom lenses, SB900 flash, flash portable battery.

Feedback

Have fun and play around with various themes and settings. Follow your emotions and let it take over while your brain keeps track of the settings and composition. Just shoot. That is the best way to learn.
