It was an overcast day so we decided to check out Johnson Lake which was a short drive from Banff. It's not one of those "famous Canadian lakes" with deep blue-turquoise waters that you see and hear about all the time. But I have to admit, it had a serene yet mesmerizing feel to it. This picture was taken late afternoon before we witnessed a beautifully colorful sunset out of nowhere. It's funny, sometimes you go to a place expecting nothing and find everything you were looking for.
